P3Paragliding Intermediate

this course is designed for pilots who have completed the P1 (Beginner) and P2 levels and are looking to build on their flying skills. It typically focuses on increasing flight confidence, understanding more advanced flight techniques, and flying in more challenging conditions. Here's a brief outline:

  • Skill Development: Enhance active flying skills, including thermalling (soaring in thermal lifts), ridge soaring, and precision landings.
  • Flight Time: Aim for longer solo flights to gain confidence and familiarity with different flying environments.
  • Maneuver Practice: Practice controlled wingovers, 360-degree turns, and other maneuvers for better glider control.
  • Weather and Conditions: Gain deeper knowledge of weather patterns, micro-meteorology, and wind dynamics in mountainous regions.
  • Safety: Emphasize advanced safety protocols, mid-air awareness, and emergency procedures.

Practical Training

  • Flying Hours: Students are expected to log several solo flights under the guidance of instructors.
  • Thermalling Techniques: Learn to catch and stay in thermals for extended flight time.
  • In-flight Decision Making: Improve judgment on when and where to fly based on changing conditions.

Certification

After completing the P3 course, pilots are considered intermediate and can fly in more complex environments with less instructor supervision. They are often allowed to fly unsupervised in suitable conditions.
